Each piece of your story is important; from the tiniest details to your biggest moments and feelings. From start to finish I am there to document your love story and preserve your memories exactly as you lived them.
Yep you got me, I’m one of them, the “Swifties.” So if you don’t love Taylor or her music, go ahead and skip this blog post. I’ve been a Swiftie since I was 13, from the time I picked up her Debut album at Walmart and then consequently had to share the cd with my sister. That to say, Taylor and her music are so important to me, and I know how important she is to all of us Swifties. So I started thinking of some ways to combine Taylor Swift and elopements, and came up with a few ways to incorporate her into your wedding day for a Taylor Swift inspired elopement!
First I’ll outline my couples ideas, and then I’ll break each one down in depth a bit more with lots of ideas!
If you’ve never heard of handfasting, it’s a ancient Celtic wedding practice where you and your partner’s hands are tied together with a cord to symbolize the binding of your lives together. It’s truly a beautiful and meaningful practice to add to your ceremony. Now back to putting a little Taylor Swift spin on it. Her song “Invisible String” contains the lyric “a single thread of gold tied me to you.” Choose a handfasting cord with a hint of gold (like this one from Ceotha’s Cords), and you have a beautiful Taylor Swift reference. You can even incorporate the lyric into the handfasting ceremony as well! Invisible String is such a beautiful love song, and is such a fun and subtle way to bring your love of Taylor into your wedding day!
This is probably one of the most obvious ways to incorporate some T Swift into your elopement day, but still needs saying! Taylor has written so many beautiful love songs perfect for wedding days and saying I Do to your partner. Even during an elopement, all you need is a phone or a little speaker to bring her music into your day!
There are SO many ways to do this! Basically taking the “something blue” tradition but making it “something Taylor Swift.” Of course this totally depends on your favorite album/era/song so it can be totally unique and personal to you, and also extremely subtle!
Ideas to get you started:
This could be done literally with a bouquet, a flower crown, a boutonniere, flowers on a cake or even a piece of jewelry like a headpiece or necklace that reference any of her flowery lyrics.
Examples include:
I truly think this would just be the most fun idea, but having a few supplies and making friendship bracelets that fit the theme/colors of your wedding day and say cute things on them. You can use Taylor related phrases/lyrics that fit the wedding them or just do one’s personalized to you, with the date of your wedding, your last names etc. If you are having a micro wedding with a few of your closest friends and family this would be such a fun activity to all do together, or just you and your fiance can make them for each other as a morning wedding day activity! You can also make them ahead of time and just use them as part of your detail shots, or even exchange them during your ceremony along with your rings!
Happy Swift-ifying your elopement day! 😉 If you liked this blog post check out:
