Each piece of your story is important; from the tiniest details to your biggest moments and feelings. From start to finish I am there to document your love story and preserve your memories exactly as you lived them.
Joshua Tree is one of those magical places that immediately draws you in. Being from Oregon, rocky desert landscapes feel so different and unique to me. Because of that, it’s always such a joy to experience them. It’s even more of a joy to get to tell someone’s love story at the same time. T & N were the absolute sweetest to capture during their Joshua Tree elopement.
From the adorable Joshua Tree themed details and getting ready together in the coolest desert airbnb, to vows and portraits with the most amazing sunset and ending the night with a crackling fire under the stars, it was simply perfect. They were down for a desert adventure for this Joshua Tree elopement from start to finish!
I incorporated polaroid photos of the airbnb into their flatlay and included mementos from Joshua Tree National Park, custom made vow books from Copper Cloud Creative, the couples rings, and some killer sun and moon earring from Luna Atlas Shop. Basically, each piece fit the vibe so well and helped to bring everything together perfectly. One of the most important pieces of an elopement is all the little details!
I was also able to create some unique imagery because of the round window on the door of this incredible desert airbnb. The double paned glass and the other windows in the space enabled me to get the reflection of the desert onto Taylor’s face for this super cool shot. In order to do that, I shot through the round window with the door at the perfect angle and Taylor behind it. Being able to get shots like this take time and observation to set up. But I love going the extra mile for my couples to get truly stunning, one of a kind photographs.
This little outdoor alcove proved to be the perfect spot for them to write their vows into their vow books.
Joshua Tree truly blessed us with the most amazing sunset and cotton candy desert skies. I was literally in awe as we kept turning in circles saying that every angle was perfect. It was a constant pointing out of “oh my god look at the pink over there” and “oh wait turn around and look at the golden streaks!” Talk about an incredible Joshua Tree elopement experience!
I was obsessed with this custom 70s inspired dress from Sweet Caroline. I have followed her designs on instagram forever and she walways has the most unique pieces, so I was beyond excited to get to photograph one of her dresses, and Taylor pulled it off flawlessly.
To sum it up, the stars had started peeking out by the time we left the firelight to call it a night, and it was just the most magical Joshua Tree elopement I could have ever imagined!
